This honey processed coffee from Nicaragua is produced at La Bastila Coffee Estate in the northeast region of Jinotega. Surrounding the region is the Cerro Datanli El Diablo natural reserve founded on deep volcanic soils, which makes Finca La Bastilla a tropical paradise for the flora and fauna. Since 2003, Finca La Bastilla has been Rainforest Alliance certified and continues to maintain that certification. Between the two farms Finca La Bastilla and Finca Santa Luz, 50 permanent and 600 seasonal employees are employees throughout the harvest season.
This is the first Nicaragua we’ve offered at Farm Loop Coffee, with notes of almond, brown sugar, and red apple. This coffee would be great on a filter brew, and would be a good candidate for single origin espresso.
